Once I had a chance to fish on a small river on the Karelian Isthmus, in which, according to the inhabitants of the nearest village: "Trout - even a dime a dozen." And for sure the river was called somehow differently, but local fishermen called it only Trout ... Well, how not to be tempted?
And I went for the pestle. For some time there were no bites at all. In vain I changed the nozzles, the depth of the descent - everything is empty. And only a kilometer or two later, when I got to the bend, the bites finally began. And I caught four trout pretty quickly. Since they were mere little ones, I let them go.
Slowly wandering along the shore, constantly making casts, I did not notice how I ended up in a large clearing. Looked around ... About two hundred meters away, there was a small log house. Directly across from him there were footbridges in the water. I went exactly there: after all, fishing from the catwalks is often very catchy. When he approached them, he even froze in amazement. To the left and to the right of the footbridge, a dozen trout frolicked! Contrary to expectations, they were not afraid of me, but still continued to scurry back and forth. At the sight of this wealth, with trembling hands, I planted several maggots on the hook and was just about to make a cast, when I heard behind me:
- Uncle, they don't fish here ...
- Why? - I asked mechanically and, looking around, I saw a boy of about ten in a faded T-shirt and slippers on his bare feet.
- Because this fish is Stepan's grandfather. He feeds her, and therefore she is constantly here and is not afraid of anyone.
I looked in bewilderment from the boy to the trout, unable to comprehend what was happening: after all, I was deprived of a potential catch!
Perhaps guessing about my disappointment, the boy suggested:
- Come on, I'll show you the places where you can go fishing.
And he took me in the direction from which I had just come ... About a hundred meters from the footbridge, he stopped and explained:
“There, you see, right in front of us, closer to the other bank, is a small breaker. There is a large rock under the water, and there is a trout near it. Throw bait around him.
I made one cast, another, and only on the third I felt a sharp jerk of the fish. Hooked, and the trout, sparkling with all the colors of the rainbow, was on the shore. I made more and more casts and after a short time fished out four more fish, 200-300 grams each. Then the nibble was cut off.
“Let's go further,” said the boy, heading for the sprawling willow bush that I slipped through, hurrying to the walkway.
The bush bent over the water so much that some branches even bathed in it. The companion explained that I had to stand just above the bush downstream and throw the tackle so that the baited hook was at the bottom, just under the bush.
- Is it possible to do this? - I doubted, looking at the continuous disorderly interweaving of green branches and dry twigs.
- But you are going to fish for trout! - and the boy looked at me reproachfully.
In order not to lose the authority of the fisherman, I tried it on several times and nevertheless managed to throw the bait in the right place. Immediately followed by a bite, and a weighty pestle was in my hands. Unfortunately, the second time, luck turned away from me: after casting, the line got tangled in the bush. All my attempts to free her led to the fact that, pulling the line, I simultaneously pulled the branches, which, in time with my attempts, whipped on the water.
“So we went fishing…” my guide said, desperately waving his hand, and, heading towards the house, added condemningly: “Now wait - don't wait, you won't get anything for a long time.
After parting with the boy, I wandered along the shore for about an hour. However, everything is useless: such catchy places, which the boy showed me, never met. Or maybe I was looking for them in the wrong place?
You have to start somewhere. This small sea trout caught on just in time. One and six. Twitched.
Dashing trouble is the beginning !!))) Herman, the first entry this year?
By the way, for those who have Facebook, a local guy made a useful application. May be useful for those fishing for trout / salmon in rivers and the sea. A map with many layers, google maps, maaamet, navioniks, etc., you can see whether a particular road has the status of eratee or public, a weather forecast for specific weather stations with water level / temperature is displayed, etc. In general, it's quite interesting, if you dig around, it promises to add all sorts of chips.))
Yes, this trout opened the season. Now the pens are shaking and there is no way to think about useful things. Yesterday, I ran away from work and rushed to a promising river. While I was getting ready, while I killed an hour on the road, I swore to the point of disgrace. Fishing for a little over three hours. Two euros per hour ... But what to do? There is no time for experiments, only "old men" go into battle. I put my "search engine" and ran through the "points". In vain, the 13th is considered an unlucky number. At the third "point" the exit for the spoon. No contact. Then two more. Several casts of silence. The question was solved by the good old "banana". The fish clung white, like my conscience! I don’t know how much we tortured each other, maybe ten minutes, but only the fish came off. Yes, she was so tired that she remained on her side, aground. Which I took advantage of. Gently by the tail and ashore. Nine seven hundred. The caviar is still too small.
Now this is an adult, beautiful mother, test. The weather seems to have finally changed to autumn, cold, it rains, the very juice is about to begin)) My hands are shaking to the river to get out, though apart from work and family this year, studies have also been added, time is catastrophically short, but nothing, let's fight )))
Good day, dear. Such a question, for a hundred years, was not on Vyana, after the ban. Is there a face on this river now? It seems like it is .. if yes, then the first or the second ?? This is me about the code. Because I took 565 to Jagal. and tAMA 555 more ... thanks in advance.
thanks Herman. I'll go there in a week. Good places there))).
scorpion, 565 is the code for Jagal and Narova from 15.10 to 15.11
thanks DMI. This is what I know, I often catch on Jagal.
Before going to the river (PURTSE) I decided to read about the laws once again, that and how I came across an article in which it is written:
(fishing rules, which have been brought into line with the fishing law that came into force on July 1, 2015. According to the project, the ban on fishing in the Valgejõgi river for about 20 km and in the Purtse river for about 6 km is extended to a year-round. the Kotka dam collapsed on the Valgejõgi River, and a fish passage was made in the Sillaoru Dam on the Purtse River, the obstacles to migration have disappeared, and now they have good potential for salmon and sea trout. The purpose of the restriction is to restore the fish population as soon as possible.)
As I understand it, 6 km from the mouth, and suddenly I am mistaken, I decided to call 1313 and ask, at the other end of the line they said that fishing is prohibited from the mouth to the sillaoru.
That is, the standard resolution (On the Purtse River from the Sillaoru dam to the mouth from 1 January to 14 October and from 16 November to 31 December.) Is no longer valid.
And I don’t understand, now you need a license for that section of the river where it was not needed before? does it make sense to go there at all?
I hope I understood correctly that this is a sillaoru?
You were deceived. Which is not surprising at all - even on the page of the Ministry of the Environment, where the link from pilet.ee leads, the information is incorrect.
Every year in Estonia comes a law on temporary restrictions on fishing, etc. (current Ajutised püügikitsendused, harrastuspüügiõiguse tasu ja püügivahendite piirarv harrastuskalapüügil 2017. aastal). It also contains information about fishing charts.
It says about Purtse that the map is needed from the mouth to Lake Pyussi, about Valgeõgi - from the mouth to the bridge on the Tallinn-Narva highway. (see 5.peatükk)
The law changes every year, is published on riigiteataja, and only there you can find what is really valid at the moment. Everything else is on the conscience of the one who published it - the sites forget to update, the journalists take un-updated information from the sites, shamelessly lazy to check, even incompetent people are sitting on information phones. A mess, but the fisherman is the last one. ?
In fishing, as in any other hobby, there is no limit to improving your skill. One of the components of success in this case is the use of modern baits, developed taking into account the latest achievements of science. Many fishing shops today offer, for example, a range of flavors for fishing trout, among which you should pay attention to the bait in the form of dough that tastes and smells of salmon caviar, earthworms, nymphs and corn. Balls made of such dough hold well on the hook and attract not only brook trout, but also rainbow trout. Not to mention the pond.
Experienced spinning anglers also use jelly-like attractants when fishing for trout, applying them to the surface of the baits - a good help once again provoke cautious fish to bite. As the practice of pond trout fishing shows, the number of trophies caught with and without attractants looks like 3: 1.
Do not forget that trout is a rather difficult fish in the sense that it can not only hide well in a shelter, but also be very selective about the proposed baits.

Each manufacturer tries to create baits that not only provide high catch efficiency, but are also convenient to use. At the same time, not every company guarantees the good quality of the models, which affects their durability. The review presents the products of the best companies for the production of trout lures:
Fishing with a path of bottom fish at great depths has its own characteristics. First, at a depth of over 8-10 m even in bright daylight, it is dark and the bait is difficult to see. Secondly, the fish does not go to the depths specifically to feed, but stays there constantly, so it is often not as active as at the feeding sites. Thirdly, deep places (pits, whirlpools) for the most part have an uneven bottom and are small in length. These features determine the choice of bait, tackle and fishing method. The bait should be clearly visible and especially attractive in order to induce the grip of a predator that is not always actively “tuned in”. For the same reasons, as well as to improve the fishing of small holes, the minimum speed of the bait is desirable. The size of the sinker and its attachment system must be able to navigate at the bottom at great and frequently changing depths. And the great depth allows you to lead the bait directly on the trail of the boat and not let go far, which helps to feel better bottom.
The rod is resilient, not long, like a rigid one-handed spinning rod. It is more convenient to maneuver with a short rod with a heavy weight and keeping the bait close to the boat.
The reel should be the same as when fishing on a regular lane.
The woods. On a quiet current and without a current, they put the same forest as on the path, on a fast current - a thinner one, which allows you to use a smaller sinker and fish bottom areas with greater sensitivity. When very large predators are caught in a strong current (for example, taimen or salmon) and it is impossible to use a thin forest, they replace it with steel wire with a diameter of 0.25-0.30 mm, moreover, they do not replace the entire forest, but only often it, corresponding to the depth at the place of fishing. The wire with the forest is overlapped with silk winding and subsequent varnishing (fig. 95), so that the wire does not cut the wood. When using steel wire, the rings on the rod must be made of steel. The steel wire should be handled carefully, avoiding overlaps and creases, the bait should not be thrown, but only lowered at the side of the boat.
Various types of sinkers are used for the deep-water track. Recently, more often than others use a long, slightly curved sinker - "poker" (fig. 94,in)... It allows you to wire along the very bottom and prevents the underbrush from curling with the bait. On a fast current, it is better to use a pear-shaped sinker, which creates less resistance to movement.
Various types of sinkers and methods of connecting them to the forest and the leash are shown in fig. 94, a, b and c... The weight of the sinker is selected depending on the strength of the current, the thickness of the forest and the fishing method, it can vary from 70 to 300 g. If the weight is determined correctly, then the scaffolding after breaking up the path should make an angle with the water surface equal to 30–40 ".
The leash is placed from a nylon vein with a diameter of 0.5-0.6 mm. The length of the leash is calculated depending on the conditions and reception of fishing. When fishing on a stream, a leash length of 1.2–1.5 is better. m in calm water, if the sinker is dragged along the bottom, the leash should not exceed 0.6 m. if the sinker is carried at the bottom, then a leash up to 1.5 in length is desirable m.
Bait. The best bait is a dead fish on a tackle. It attracts a predator regardless of the game and can be captured by it at any speed. An artificial bait is another matter - a predator willingly takes it only when playing, which resembles a live fish in visual perception and water vibrations. It is very difficult to achieve such a game with slow wiring in a short forest. The best artificial bait for deep-sea fishing should be considered light wood or cloth fish. Of the lures, the lightest and most intensely playing can be used, provided they are carried upstream. For such fishing, it is obviously possible to design special lures made of light metals (for example, aluminum).
The choice of tackle for deep-sea fishing depends on the specific conditions of the reservoir. In strong currents and in rocky places where the fish will soon wear out, lattice tackles are advisable, but without a heavy head cap. In quiet water, simple tackles are more convenient. When fishing on a piece of fish ("fillet"), you can use two single hooks tied to one leash. The size of the fish depends on the type of predator. For catching bottom pike, catfish, taimen, large fish weighing 200-300 give the best results r and more. Small fish are more suitable for salmon, trout, burbot and pike perch.
It is more convenient to fish on a deep-water track with a rower, since correct bait guidance requires unremitting attention.
In calm water, having driven out to the chosen place, they lower the bait overboard and allow the forest to slowly unwind from the reel while the boat is moving. If you allow the reel to spin quickly and release the forest from the standing boat, the leash with the bait will be pulled up parallel to the forest, and the hooks can catch on it. After the lead hits the bottom, adjust the release length so that the lead touches the bottom when venting 0.5-1 m forests. With a clean bottom, the "lead-poker" can be driven without losing contact with the bottom.
If you catch a dead fish on a tackle, it is useful to diversify its lead: for example, lower it to the bottom and let it lie down for a while, wiggling the end of the rod, or lead it in a zigzag manner, then lowering it, then raising it. In this way, the entire pit is fished, bearing in mind that for a complete fishery, the distance between parallel wires should not exceed 4-5 m.
When fishing in a noticeable current, there is no need to lower the bait from a moving boat, since the current will carry it, and even with a quick release, the overlap behind the forest will not work.
Posting on the current has its own characteristics. In particular, dead fish can be released downstream from a stationary boat. To do this, raise the bait and sinkers from the bottom and release a certain amount of woods, allowing the current to carry them down, that is, they act in the same way as when fishing on a "running" donk. With this method of fishing, the correct selection of the weight of the lead (in accordance with the strength of the current) is of paramount importance. This technique is sometimes used in another version: on the boat, they slowly move downstream forward astern, either lowering the bait to the bottom, then raising it higher, that is, as if feeling the bottom with a sinker. In this case, the speed of the boat should be slightly less than the speed of the current, that is, you need to row against the current, delaying the demolition of the boat. This method gives good results on fast and rocky places.
On a fast current and not too "strong" places, the bait with a sinker is sometimes lowered in the middle of the river and, releasing the forest from the reel, drive up to the bank. Then the bait is lifted from the bottom and, slowly winding the forest onto a reel, the current is allowed to carry it along an arc in the same way as when fishing with a spinning rod.
A bite on a deep-sea path is similar to a bite on a spinning rod, since in both cases the forest is relatively short and almost always stretched. However, when fishing with a dead fish, the bite of a predator is sometimes sluggish, reminiscent of a hook on the grass, in this case, you need to stop the boat and follow the forest, slightly raising the tip of the rod.
When fishing for salmon and trout, the sweep should be followed immediately at the first sign of a bite. When catching other predators, the moment of hook-up depends on the type of bait: with artificial lures, multi-hook tackle and a lattice tackle, the hook-up is performed immediately with a tackle with one tee or two single hooks with a hook, and they are in no hurry, giving the predator the opportunity to properly pick up the bait.
For fishing in the country, the most "democratic" tackle is suitable - a float rod. For a beginner angler to choose the right spot, the easiest way is to ask the locals. If you are not a poacher, then, as a rule, the bite sites will show you. Well, you need to study the reservoir, the habits of the fish.
The presence of fish can be identified by splashes. In early summer, when the water is already warm enough and the backwaters of the lakes are covered with water lily leaves, it makes sense to look for large fish in the "windows" between aquatic vegetation, among which crucian carp, carp, tench, bream are looking for food.
In general, if you want to catch a "trophy crucian", it should be "brought" to the place of fishing in advance. About a week in advance, you can come and feed a small amount of porridge, soaked bread - what the fish will eat. Do not get carried away with flavorings! Add a little "fragrant" vegetable oil, honey, jam to the porridge. It is better to feed at about the same time (at which then you are going to fish here). And if you did not feed in advance, then this will affect the result.
If you come to an unfamiliar place, try to attract fish immediately. Take 3 cups of fried sunflower seeds minced through a meat grinder, 3 cups of oatmeal (also crushed), 50-100 g of cottage cheese, 2 tbsp. l. condensed milk (it can be replaced with milk powder, but then it is worth adding a few tablespoons of sugar), a clove of garlic.
When fishing, take dry ingredients with you plus a thermos with boiling water. Pour chopped seeds and flakes into a saucepan, add cottage cheese and condensed milk, squeeze out a clove of garlic. Mix everything and start adding boiling water, continuing to stir with a spoon. The consistency should be such that walnut-sized balls can be molded from the groundbait. If you overdo it with boiling water, you can add more dry components (always have a supply of them).
Such bait will not saturate the fish, but will only attract it to the place of fishing. Throw a few balls exactly into the "window" between the vegetation (where you will catch) and start assembling the tackle ...
Seasoned fishermen often use blind rigs (no reel). And they carry with them several pre-prepared assemblies with floats of different carrying capacity and type. Already on the pond, according to the situation, they choose a suitable installation, but they always try to use the lightest and most sensitive float - 1.5-2 g. If only the wind would allow an accurate cast! The line is 0.2 mm, and the better the quality, the better. The leash is used only in "tight" places. Choose a larger hook, No. 6 according to the international classification (No. 7 - according to Russian) or even larger. The distance from the sinker to the hook is 30-40 cm so that the bait does not go into the silt or grass at the bottom. Rod - 6 meters, light telescopic. With this it will be easier to get into the "window". The rig is not tied to the tip, but, passing the line through the rings with the help of a carabiner-fastener, is fixed to the ring in the butt of the rod - this way the load will be distributed more evenly. Well, a landing net is necessary.
A well-known worm is good as a nozzle. Bread, dough with peas and honey can also be caught - this, as they say, is a matter of taste. But fishermen with experience usually still catch worms, putting them on a hook in 2-3 pieces. The float is adjusted so that the weight and nozzle are on the bottom. You can try to raise the nozzle 10-15 cm above the bottom, but then there will be more bites of "little things".
If you feel the bite is waning, throw in a few balls of groundbait.
- For fish, the main enemy is an unscrupulous fisherman who strives to bring home as much fish as possible, even if there is no need for it, - Boris Nikolayevich is sure. - Kilometers of networks, electric fishing rods - all this destroys nature! But how would you like our grandchildren to be able to "fight" with mustachioed carp or bream "from a newspaper sheet" ...
Experienced anglers say that for each reservoir, each fish needs its own spinning rod. And if experience is not enough, how to understand which one is required?
Spinning should be selected based on the specific conditions of fishing. It is unlikely that there is a universal formula, since all bodies of water are different, not to mention the weather conditions. However, the basic principle of selecting a suitable "stick" in terms of such parameters as length, power, action and handle length can still be designated for certain fishing conditions.
The marking of the spinning system needs to be deciphered:
How to catch a trout with a worm.
The worms for the nozzle are selected depending on the terrain. Sometimes trout takes better on a small worm, sometimes on a large one, but in general it should be noted that on deaf rivers it is better to fish on an ordinary earthworm that lives right there on the banks and is well known to fish, which here does not know red dung at all, and even more so large worm (worm, worm, crawling, bertyl, dew, earthworm), which is found mainly in gardens and vegetable gardens. There are areas where almost no fish takes to crawl. The worm is planted on hooks of the corresponding size, large at No. 0 or 1-2, and simple earthen and dung hooks at No. 3-6, below the head, releasing a long tail if the trout does not eat the worm. In the latter case, it is more convenient to plant the worm on a Stuart's tackle of 2-3 small hooks. The worm is preferred cleaned, that is, stale and with empty entrails, since such a worm sits on the hook more tightly and the fish takes it more willingly. In muddy waters, however, according to many foreign authors, it is better to plant a fresh, unpeeled and more smelly worm, as if the trout smells it further. The sense of smell in fish is generally much more developed than is usually thought.
In Russia, most of the trout are fished for the worm and only a small part for the fly. In the Caucasus, precisely in the tributaries of the Kuban, as well as almost along the entire Black Sea coast, the Cossacks catch trout mainly for chicken guts (or various game), usually in muddy water, almost for lack of worms. The bowels can probably serve as a good bait in other places as well. In Western Europe, in some places, exactly where trout are fed (in trout ponds) with all sorts of things, these fish are made as omnivorous as carp or barbel-myron, and they are excellent for potatoes, bacon, etc. Recently in Germany and Belgium is rapidly spreading one species of American trout, the so-called. rainbow (arc-en-ciei), which, perfectly living in warm pond water, prefers plant food to worms and insects and is excellently caught on various grains.
The general rules for catching trout with a worm are the same as for fishing with a fly. The main thing is to try to hide behind bushes or some kind of protection, in any case, avoid brightly colored suits and do not stand in such a way that the shadow falls on the water, that is, with your back to the sun, and also do not knock or make noise when walking along the shore. It should always be borne in mind that any fish hears the noise of footsteps through the shaking of the shore better than the voice and other noise. It is clear that when the water is very cloudy, there is no need to hide, and in windy weather - to observe unconditional silence. Since trout is a shy fish and not gregarious, then, having caught several fish in one place, sometimes 2-3, it is necessary to move to another place, so this fishing is almost the same as fly fishing: after fishing a known area in all directions if there were no bites, you need to go down the river. They are fished almost always from the shore, almost never from a boat and rarely from bridges, dams and sluices, under which, however, trout love to stay and are the most numerous. The nozzle should always be thrown a little higher than the place where the presence of fish is noticed or assumed.
As a matter of fact, there are three ways of catching trout with a worm: without a float with a light sinker, so that the nozzle drags along the bottom or floats near it without a float, lowering and raising the nozzle, and with a float. The first method is used on rifts, the other two - in deeper and quieter water - in pits, under sluices and in pools in the bends of the river. When fishing from the shore and in a shallow place, they throw a worm with a wave of the hand, holding the hook with a nozzle with the fingers of the left hand, slightly above the place where the plumb line is located, mostly due to bushes in small rivers or even in streams. In lakes it is not worth fishing for worms (with a float), since for successful fishing it is necessary to cast it very far from the shore.
As for the time of the snake, in Russia, trout takes on the worm almost all year round, except for the spawning period and opening of rivers. Abroad, on the contrary, trout biting on a worm in summer almost everywhere completely stops, and at this time it is caught only with a fly (natural or artificial). Of all, trout generally goes best for the worm in April and May, then in late autumn after spawning. In St. Petersburg (region), trout at the end of August gathers for battles, for rifts, and stops taking. In some places, trout is well caught in winter, from ice holes (in holes), but its winter snake is little known and rarely used. It seems that it is better caught at night, with a lantern, in a plumb line and from the bottom. In England, trout is caught in late autumn and winter with salmon eggs on a small hook. In early spring and late autumn, trout also picks up better from the bottom and in deeper and quieter places, which is why it is more convenient to catch it with a float.
As you might expect, the best time for trout fishing for a worm is early morning before sunrise and dusk after sunset. Abroad and in the south in general, where the summer twilight is very short, the evening dinner is short and begins two hours before sunset, in the same way, the morning bite sometimes lasts until 10 o'clock in the afternoon. In northern Russia, in May and June, trout seem to take all night except midnight.
Weather and water conditions, toAs always, they are very important when fishing for trout. It is most successful on cloudy, quiet days, as well as after rains, but when the turbidity is already beginning to pass. In general, in muddy water you can only catch a worm or a fish, but you should not fish with a fly on top. During heavy rain, when the water is very muddy, the trout sticks to the very shore, in the backwaters, and takes poorly. When the hail comes in, it falls into a daze, gets hammered into holes and under stones, and you can catch it with your hands. It is quite possible that this happens to her even with very strong thunderclaps, but I note by the way that during a thunderstorm she mostly floats on the surface, having an abundant harvest of insects blown into the water by the wind. According to the observations of Western European fishermen, in dry and cold winds, trout stays on the bottom, with wet and warm winds - on the surface.
The bite of trout on the worm is transmitted differently, depending on the area and time of year. On the rifts and rapids, also there, the trout is not scared and hungry, it grabs the worm right away, and drowns the float, and when fishing without it, it gives a rather strong push to the hand, so it should be hooked right away. With a more sluggish bite, a more or less sharp push is transmitted to the hand, then 2-3 blows and a pull follow, at the first push the rod must be pushed forward or it is better to lower it without waiting for the pull, because the latter means that the trout has completely swallowed the worm. When fishing with a Stewart tackle, you must hook at the first bite. A well-fed and frightened trout, especially in river pools and in ponds, takes much more caution than on a rapid, and grabs a nozzle from the side, often, especially with a heavy float, devouring it. Then it is best to strike as soon as the float trembles.
Striking, when fishing with a float, should be quite energetic when fishing without a float, especially on a rapid, a small movement of the hand is enough, and with a sharper sweep, you can break off a strong line. It should not be forgotten that the trout is the strongest of our fish, and that even a half-pound pestle has a very strong resistance. Some believe that a half-pound trout is as smart as a 3-pound grayling, which is six times the strength of a fish that is not weak either. The hooked trout rushes swiftly in the opposite direction and jumps out of the water. These maneuvers are especially dangerous on the rifts, and therefore fishing even medium trout, about a pound, on the rapid, without a reel, requires a lot of skill and dexterity. You have to quite often replace the coil with your feet, that is, run after the fish, and sometimes even go into the water. Often, in addition, the caught trout is hammered under a stone or entangled in the grass, and then there is even more trouble with it.
When fishing on rocky rapids, the hook, touching the stones, becomes blunt very quickly, and therefore it is necessary to grind it from time to time and for this take with you the smallest file (hour) or block, in a pencil width, made of asp. Vein leashes also quickly wear out and fray here.

If anyone is interested, this year I have already spent two trips to paysites in Novoselki. Novosyolki is a very decent-sized reservoir, where the whole action is as close as possible to real fishing, and not to fishing in a puddle shoulder to shoulder with dozens of anglers. In addition to its size, Novoselki has a varied relief: there are deep pits, shallows, and a snag. There is almost never a question of catching more than five fish for spinning, but literally every bite is remembered, and every fish can be truly proud of.
After the first visit and the capture of six trout by kilo in weight, I had a feeling of some slight understatement and a keen desire to repeat the visit. Unfortunately, I had no choice, and the opportunity to go appeared only on Friday. I woke up, looked out the window and was horrified: maybe, well, him ?! On the street the wind and drizzling rain - complete disgust! But when else it will turn out to go next time. So I decide ...
On the way, the weather jumps and changes: now we enter the rain, then above us is a piece of completely clear sky! Closer to the pond I see a fantastic picture: the frontier border of the front with clouds and rains, formidable in its clarity, has drawn the sky, dividing light and darkness. Where this darkness is moving is completely incomprehensible, yes, in principle, it does not matter anymore: I have arrived.
According to my "home" plan, I wanted to take the bridge by the gazebo on the right bank. But, already going down to the reservoir, I understand that it was a stupid idea: the wind was blowing right at me, so much so that the chupryna stirred under the cap!
Naturally, I had an idea to change the place, but all the interesting places on the opposite bank were already occupied by fishing rods with a monstrous amount of tackle.
As I wrote earlier, I only fish with a spinning rod and try to use only wobblers or oscillators. I'm not interested in catching with pasta, rubber or bombard - I better not catch anything (although this has not happened yet), but I will only use what I really like. Yes, and initially we are not talking about the "prey" of fish. If I wanted this, I would have gone to the already mentioned paysites-puddles like "VIP". But is it interesting? Is this fishing? Apparently, for the same reason, I liked it in Novoselki: open space! You can throw in different directions and at different distances ...
So, the wind in your mug - I throw it! By the way, having run through the forums of different paysites, I noticed that many anglers have recently noted the special catchability of dark lures. This, of course, is strange, because the weather does not indulge in the sun at all, and what a fish sees and understands there in such lead water, in which dark spoons slide, I, frankly speaking, do not understand at all. Maybe due to the fact that the water is still transparent, there is no sun glare on it, and black against the background of a whitish sky is clearly visible ?!
But it is not for nothing that they say that fishing for trout in a paysite on a spinning rod is an almost haphazard action ... Again, the fish know better.
From theory back to practice: last time, also in cloudy weather, I successfully caught a yellow-orange with sparkles Sakura Skoon Fat Area 35mm, 3.2 grams, in the color AR7. Now, having rummaged in my wallet with lures, out of 18 available ones, I again chose the Skoon Fat Area in the same size as last time, but in a different color: an almost black front and an orange UV Active bottom - color AR2.
In addition to the color, the choice fell on Skoon because of its shape: in windy weather, such a bait will fly much further than wider spoons.
I put all the nonsense into the cast, but with such a wind I still could not throw at the maximum possible distance. But, despite this, already on the second, very slow posting - a bite!
And it began! What kind of trout it was, I do not know, but it was clearly on anabolic steroids! She repeatedly went to the candles, tore from side to side and unwound the clutch several times, being already almost in the net!
I also wrote that I use DAM 0.16 sinking line. So: thank God that I was with the line, because at one moment the handicap jerked from the landing net and wanted to climb under the bridge. I, of course, held her back, but the line was very sour and drove along the bridge. If it were a thin cord, it would burst 100%! Of course, out of harm's way, I then cut off this piece of fishing line and tied it up.
Wind, wind and once again the devil's wind ... How did he blow! I decided to warm myself with some tea and have a light snack at the same time. Fifteen minutes later, I'm back on the bridge, and at the maximum ejection again a bite! It all starts anew ... Trout is just restless, and I literally get high from the fight! But-oh-oh ... unexpected descent.
Okay, I think we'll catch another one now. But no. A dozen casts - and absolute silence! Although what kind of silence is there ?! There is an incessant howl of wind in my ears, and I, freaked out, go to another place in order to somehow hide from this howl.
I get up on the bridge, on which I fished for the first time. Nobody canceled the wind, but here it at least blows sideways, and you can throw it normally. I tried five more different colors, but in the end I returned to my dark AR2 again.
Surprisingly, in such ripples on the water, I could see fry scattering from the trout! This opened up a second wind, and after a couple of casts I start to fight with another crazy fish! What a test weight this time - from one and a half kilograms! Very nice!
The mood is high again, and as soon as I thought how wonderful it is that there is no rain, DARKNESS creeps in from the left and HELL begins! Hurricane gusts of wind, rain, and then hail. He is furious, slapping his hands and face to a sharp pain. This was the first time in my life that I experienced it. Beyond words ...
And then? Then a clear sky and a light breeze! Catch to your health. But all the fish hid and didn’t show themselves anymore ... Changing all the sizes, shapes and colors of the spinners in the second round, I threw for almost two hours tirelessly and every time I thought to tie and get home, but the rare jabs made me continue.
And again I put on Sakura Skoon Fat AR2 - the drummer of today, do the maximum cast. Immediately after the fall, I begin to slowly reel. The spinner plays quite widely, but often. The weather is calm, and I can perfectly see how the waves from the following trout are diverging behind the spoon! The fry running "in front of the locomotive" must have been very grateful to me for saving me - the third working trout in a landing net!
Small bottom line: fishing for trout on paysites is like a color lottery: there are no rules or patterns! Today something bright is working and the dazzling sun is shining, and tomorrow it is black and it is pouring rain on you ...
For sure, I understood one thing: Skoon Fat in UV colors copes with all conditions and does even a little more. I don't know what the reason is: maybe a form that resembles a fry, or maybe a game or the sound waves that it generates. Maybe a color. Or maybe the trout just like the taste of their 45 carbon steel.
An eerie sight along the way :). Trout fishing on paysites
